Newsy & Openly Header 2
At the Metro Publisher Community Summit, we announced the release of two new themes now available exclusively on our platform - Openly and Newsy.
What’s New with These Two
Openly and Newsy make a clean impression with a simpler look. Their layout is more open, featuring full-width headers that extends to the browser’s edge. If you have a lot of sections and subsections, these themes offer a drop down navigation.
Both allow for full-width images, titles and descriptions for headline and lead stories. A plus for stories with long titles. Now they can be displayed in one line without being broken up. Images are displayed uncropped for the full effect. It also makes it easier for editors to quickly add content and images without worrying about those details, but know it will look good.
Switching to new themes is easily done in a few clicks. It does not require any HTML knowledge or major time-consuming data transfers or copying. Just go to the Theme Editor in the Design tab and select the change theme button, then choose your desired theme. This is a great way to give your site a new look or design refresh.
Those of you using Metro Publisher Pro can use any theme to build off of by selecting a standard theme and working with the CSS editor to customize the look and feel for your brand.
A theme is not a design set in stone. There is so much you can do and change to make it your own. Look out for more on our blog as we’ll be sharing more about individual themes and what you can do with them.
Why We Give Clients Free Themes
Themes are important both for startup publishers who want to launch with good design (but have little or no design budget) and for existing publishers who feel the need of doing a design refresh, but want to avoid the time involved in finding a designer and waiting for the design to be delivered.
That’s not all. Websites built with Metro Publisher are also responsive design sites. We make sure your site looks good on any device and a pleasure for readers to visit at no extra cost.
This is all part of our mission of being affordable, and delivering predictable monthly costs through the full life cycle of a website which includes always having contemporary and fresh designs.
What’s in Store
We continue to grow our investment in design and our design team continues to design new themes as part of our commitment to deliver designs that anyone can afford.
