The latest release of Metro Publisher includes two great new features to help publishers save money and time – OpenStreetMaps and basic or expert mode for editors.
Starting November 5th, 2019, our development team will be gradually upgrading all clients to the new release.
New FREE Map with OpenStreetMaps
Metro Publisher makes extensive use of maps for Locations, Events, Reviews, and Roundups. Until now, there was only the option to use the Google Maps API for this feature. But times have changed and Google now charges for their maps. As a result, we have added a new third party option with OpenStreetMaps to display maps on your website for FREE.
- OpenStreetMaps (free)
If you are an existing client currently using Google Maps or a client who has not turned on the maps feature, you have the option to activate OpenStreetMaps.
It's a great feature for your readers, free of charge, and can be activated with a single click.
Basic or Expert Mode for Editors
Metro Publisher has two different edit modes – Basic or Expert.
- Basic – This mode displays all the required fields throughout your works site. With this view, you will see only the necessary fields for each task. This streamlined view is great for beginners to learn while, at the same time, avoid being overwhelmed with a multitude of advanced fields.
- Expert – This mode displays all available fields. This unhindered view works great for editors want to make daily use of all advanced options.
