The development team has been busy this spring preparing a steady stream of new features and upgrades to existing ones. Below are some notable changes Metro Publisher clients should be aware of.
New Features on Searches
Our newest release includes two great new features on Location and Event Searches: You can now choose between the classic list layout or the new grid layout option and you can add a full-width feature image on all searches. On list layouts, the classic list view map displays. On grid layouts, the map is hidden to maintain symmetry and make the best use of the space available.

Locations Grid
New Kicker Field
Introducing an eye-catching kicker field for Content, Location Searches and Event Searches! Sprockets, Content Searches, Location Searches, and Event Searches now have a new display option: "Show Kicker" and there is a new field on Content edit forms, under the Content title. Enter a short Kicker text there and it will display on your public website above the Content title in Sprockets if you activate it to display via the Sprocket settings.
Log in as Admin to have the same Kicker display on article, event, and location pages themselves on your public website, so not just on the Sprockets and Searches. Navigate to Settings > Content and make your choice under Display Options.
Content Export Improvements
The new Kicker can be exported for Content, Events, and Locations. In addition, the URL is available for Content export with this release.
Text-to-Speech
Our new native Text-to-Speech feature designed for Universal Access allows readers to listen to your Content rather than read it. You'll find the setting to activate the Text-to-Speech player in the Display Options settings under Admin > Settings > Content.
Hiding list numbers on Roundups
In response to customer requests we have created an option to hide the numbers on the list of places, events, and articles on Roundups.
Locations on Topics Pages
Locations are now also displayed on Topics Pages for the Tag(s) they include.
"Read More" Links Removed
Such unspecific links do not designate the piece of Content they belong to and return both Accessibility and SEO errors. Your readers and search engine crawlers know to use titles as the direct link to your Content.
Thank you for cooperating with us to keep your Content accessible and successful!
