What does “above the fold” mean?
This term originally meant the content that was quickly and easily seen on the upper half of a folded newspaper. In the context of a website, it is the part of the page that can be seen before any scrolling down is done.
What are Premium Ads?
A Premium Ad is any ad that appears “above the fold”. Any ad that appears on a web page without scrolling can be sold at a premium rate. In Metro Publisher, ther are two premium ads on every page template — a leaderboard (728x90 pixels) and an MPU (300x250 pixels).
What are Standard Ads?
The Standard Ads are the ads that appear once the user scrolls the page, or below the fold. Even though Premium Ads can be sold at a higher price because they are seen first, the standard ads are still quite valuable. The habits of web users have changed over time and scrolling is a universally accepted practice. Content like articles, reviews and blog entries keep users reading longer on each page and thus increase the efficacy of ads below the fold. With Metro Publisher, every page contains a Standard Leaderboard Ad (728x90 pixels) at the bottom of the page. Subsections also have six additional tile ads (125x125 pixels) on the right side. The smaller tile ads give publishers an opportunity to sell economical ad space to local vendors without significant ad budgets.
What is the Sell-through Rate?
The sell-through rate is the percentage of your ad inventory that you actually sell.
